Abstract
Modern Russian is the national language of the Russian people, a form of Russian national culture. It represents a historically formed linguistic community and unites the whole totality of linguistic means of the Russian people, including all Russian colloquialisms and dialects, as well as various jargons. Native language is a living link of times. With the help of language, a person realizes the role of his people in the past and present, gets acquainted with the cultural heritage. Modern Russian literary language is the language of fiction, science, press, radio, television, theater, school, state acts.
