Abstract
The article is devoted to the theoretical and practical consideration of the
initiation novel, the features of the plot and compositional organization, the spatio-temporal
structure, the specifics of the narrative, as well as the type of hero, its influence on the style
of the novel, the embodiment of the author's plan, and how widespread this genre is in
modern literature. Initiation novel is considered as a genre modification of the novel of
education, the type of hero, events, and features of the compositional structure based on the
material of the novels by D. Tartt, J. Safran Foer and Irvine Welsh
