Abstract
This article defines the linguistic status of zeugmatic constructions. The statements of various scientists about the basis of Zeugma are given. The role of subordination in zeugmatic constructions is revealed, grammatical defectiveness is discussed in some sentences from the examples given, at the same time it is indicated that violations in the zeugma are justified in order to create a certain stylistic effect.
