DIABETES MELLITUS AND SURGICAL INFECTION
Abstract
The successes in the diagnosis and treatment of lung abscesses achieved over the past
fifty years have made it possible to make significant progress in improving the results of
treatment of patients with this pathology. However, due to the growing number of
patients with diabetes mellitus, this problem remains relevant now. The peculiarities of
such lung abscesses are their origin and course against the background of a chronic
disease in which glucose assimilation is disrupted, hyperglycemia develops, leading to
a violation of all types of metabolism: carbohydrate, fat, protein, mineral and water-salt.
